      The Obijime cord is the last layer tying the Obi -the belt on top of the Kimono. Thus the final touch to complete the look

      The open back refers to the showing of the neck. If you look at someone wearing a kimono from the side or behind, you can see the back of the neck with its collar tugged down. This process is called “Emon wo nuku” in Japanese, which enables extra attention to the neckline. The origin of "Emon wo Nuku" actually was a practical solution. It was to prevent the collar from getting dirty from wearing.
